Rate it about a 5 out of 10. I lived in Orange County at one time, so interested to see what it's like now. Movie has more of a teenager point of view with high school senior wanting to be a writer and only satisfied to go to Stanford where his idol teaches. Lots of complicated family relationships and supportive girlfriend. Tom Hanks son is the lead and Sissy Spacek's daughter is girlfriend. Jack Black is 'over the top' as usual and gets tiresome. Catherine O'Hara as the mother is great, so is John Lithgow.. and some surprise cameos by Lily Tomlin, Chevy Chase, Ben Stiller, Kevin Kline and others. I liked it more than HE did.
